Bible Study for February
February- Bible On Trial: Beyond a Reasonable Doubt
In The Bible On Trial: Beyond a Reasonable Doubt, the case is made that the Scriptures are authentic, dependable, God-inspired and worthy...not only of our full attention but of our complete faith. In this study, attorney Craig Parton leads the viewer through relevant points that comprise this important discussion. He asks, "Is this book, the Bible...and its contents...reliable?"
Would You Be Able To Help?
Grace Lutheran is upgrading their sound system and needs your help. Would you please consider contributing to help us pay for the cost of this expensive upgrade? If so, there is a contribution box on the table in the Narthex, or your can place your donation in the offering plate in the center aisle of the church, or you can safely contribute online by clicking on the "give" tab and then click on donate. In the memo line, please state that your gift is to help with the sound system. Prayerfully consider helping with this much-needed upgrade.
Thank you in advance!
WOMEN OF GRACE MEETINGS
An article in Guideposts magazine last year sparked an idea for some of the ladies at Grace. The article stated that deployed U.S. military personnel in Kuwait, Afghanistan and Syria needed Christmas greeting cards to send home to loved ones. Military exchanges, particularly in combat zones, didn't sell cards. A group of paper crafters in 2016 sent over 500 cards to the troops. Last year, 76,000 cards were made and sent from paper crafters all over the United States.
Last fall, some of our members got together and made over 50 cards and sent them off to the group, mailing them overseas. We have continued making birthday, get-well, sympathy, and anniversary cards. This week we are sending another 50 cards for the cause.
We stamp our church's name on the back of these cards and try to include a Biblical message within the cards. It's our way of sharing God's message. All of the materials have been donated by this group.
This ministry has turned into a two-fold purpose. With all in the current group now vaccinated, we feel more comfortable being together and allowing those living alone to have some great face time with friends. We usually bring a sack lunch and catch up on the local news before starting our card projects for the day.
If you would like to join us, we would love to have you, men or women! We will be meeting on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month at noon here at the church. If you don't feel comfortable yet in being out and about, but want to help, we would appreciate any donations to offset the costs of paper, glue, and envelopes. We can also send contributions for postage to the group assembling the boxes of cards. If you have any questions or comments, please call Wendy Hockley or Gail Kleimola.
Happy Valentine's Day! Feb. 14th
